Historique :	Ce monument commémoratif a été élevé à la mémoire de la famille de François Mercier (1858-1920), officier de la Légion d'honneur, conseiller municipal puis maire du Tronget. C'est à lui qu'on doit la création d'une cantine scolaire gratuite en 1910, d'une école et d'un sanatorium.
